In an early startup that is growing rapidly, we are seeing a new hire every two weeks.

From an outsider perspective, this should signal that the company is growing in the right direction and our product is working the way we want it to be. Yet, from an insider point of view, there are so many confusion and uncertainty that I am curious how our company will traject

At this stage, I have observed what we are doing with marketing is to build our brand and go to events. Yet, most importantly, we are still lost on who we are targeting. How can we even market product when we don’t even know who we are targeting?

Solution: talk to actual customers

I'm curious if that is a valid tactic in business where we just try everything all at once and see what works and what doesn't. Or should we just focus on one beachhead and set a timeline, then go full on marketing with those segments to experiment.
From what I'm experiencing right now, this feels like things are so over-saturated and not focused, and there is not enough credibility for us to expand in other verticals.

Everything is a learning experience though? But choosing the right learning dictates what the future of the company.

The most important part

What I have also learned is that leadership is the ones that set the direction, all we can do is to listen? Yet is that true?

When things are too saturated without focus, that is when nothing can be done because you're too available for everyone all at once.To fix this problem, what we have to do is to find the perfect beachhead who is willing to pay for our product and also loves our product, because the top 100 customers are the ones who dictate where this product is going to be.
